How to Easily Save 25% or More On Real Estate Agent Commissions - Buying or Selling

Would you like to know how to easily get 25% or more of a real estate agent's commission when buying or selling? I'm Mathew Speer from Local Real Estate Advisors, here to share a valuable tip.

Real estate agents offer referral fees, typically 25% of their commission. These fees are part of agent commissions, whether or not a referral is made. The catch: only licensed agents can be paid referral fees. So how can you, a non-licensed buyer or seller, get 25% or more of an agent's commission?

  • As a buyer, request a commission credit towards your purchase.

  • Sellers, negotiate a reduced commission with your listing agent.

Finding the right agent may seem challenging, but I can connect you with one willing to honor the referral fee as a credit or reduction.

Why do I, a licensed agent, share this tip?

I believe in transparency and fairness in real estate, empowering consumers like you. Plus, I share over 25%, usually around 50%, of my commission with buyers, and don’t overcharge sellers when I help them sell while still providing the highest level of service.

Let's take a closer look for a clear understanding of how much you can be saving: Imagine buying a $500,000 house with a typical 3% buyer agent commission, which is $15,000. The referring agent receives 25%, or $3,750, just for the introduction!

That $3,750 could be yours!

Referral fees are already included in agent commissions, exposing commission inflation. Once again, how do you get 25% or more of an agent's commission when buying or selling real estate?

  • Buyers, ask for a credit from the buyer agent's commission.

  • Sellers, negotiate a reduced commission.

I get offers from other agents offering me 35%, 40%, and even 50% referral fees so don't be afraid to ask for at least 25%!
